About Kasane - Activities, Things to Do, Information
Kasane is administrative centre of the Chobe District and central location to enjoy Chobe National Park. It also a convenient geographical point to see Victoria Falls in both Zambia & Zimbabwe as well as Namibia’s Caprivi Strip. You can do all of this in less than a week !
For travelers wishing to enjoy this superior location, there is accommodation spread out along the river. From camping to 3 star & even 5 star resorts offer every budget an option. Lodges and Guest Houses situated along the river offer spectacular river views that can see as far as Namibia in the distant.
The main part of the city/town has a central shopping mall with tons of useful services including a supermarket, bottle store, clothing, restaurants, tourism offices, petrol station, tools, supplies, small vendors with booths offering local crafts and a variety of shopping options where you can purchase unique hand made clothing and accessories, even things you would use at home in the kitchen. Across from the mall is a builders supply and a variety of services that just about touch on everything.

Seboba Recreational Walking Park & Entertainment Center
This parks is well worth seeing, an easy walk through elevated walkways provides some nice vantage points, remember its on the river and wildlife can be anywhere, a walking guide is available at the main office & with shopping options. On your walk you can see the rapids, depending on the time of year they change appearance. Tons of birds nest here. Next to the entrance is a modern outdoor theater. Adjacent to that is a high vantage point that offers 360 degree views. Stroll down and take in the cultural village. The area is well maintained and fits in with mother nature perfectly. A modest fee is charged to enter but well worth it.
Crocodile Farm
The Crocodile Farm is located in Kazungula on the river. This unique Farm is privately owned and has been operational for ages. Mainly a breeding farm, selling hatchlings to other crocodile farms for commercial purposes. There are big ones too ! Tourists are welcome, its worth the effort as it conducts educational tours & the opportunity for to view one of Africa';s most spectacular predators " The Nile Crocodile" & at a close range ! A modest fee is charged to enter, Open most days depending on what is going on with the farm.
Famous Baobab Tree
Next to the Police Station lies a historical massive beautiful Baobab tree, Parts are hollow, it was used in the old days to hold prisoners and also a point where mail was delivered to. The Police station is a modern facility easily accessible to all.
Snake Park
The Snake park hosts a wide variety of snakes (over 15 species) in pleasant garden surroundings.
Liambezi Lake & Hot Springs
Just off the main tar road is Liambezi lake, usually its dry however on the extreme wet times it might show a pleasant reflection. Nearby is the Hot Springs, warm and salty waters of this natural spring are believed to hold medicinal powers, this area is a corridor for wildlife between the village of Kazungula and city of Kasane. Its easy to miss and perhaps the last thing on your list.
